29th MARCH 2008 LOCAL AIR RALLY  

Open to all but especially local clubs Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, Lessay, Granville and Maupertus Aeroclubs.   The format is based on our September Air Rally click here for details but without any scores for timing it is more relaxed this year!.  HINT flying at a constant speed helps to fix your position.

 

THINGS YOU NEED TO BRING: 

Protractor and Ruler with 1:250,000 scale

Accurate watch /clock (preferably with digital display)

Digital camera with removable memory card eg: (CompactFlash, Memory Stick, SD, and xD

 

Optional - for fun only and only if you have one-: GPS logger Garmin Etrex, Geko or similar

 

THINGS YOU DON'T NEED ( WE WILL PROVIDE )

1:250,000 map

Please aim to arrive in Maupertus for a briefing at 11:00 french local  (10:00UK time  10:00UTC)

We will publish a start order in speed order (fastest go first) and take offs will be at 5 to 10 minute intervals.

 

There will be a touch-and-go spot landing in Lessay and then return to Cherbourg for a BBQ lunch with Luc and Edith 13:00 - 16:00

 

Providing all the technology works and Mark has not had a nervous breakdown, results will be announced after lunch.   We are checking how many crews would like to stay the night, perhaps at the Fuschias in St Vaast? and will publish more about this option later.
